Music This Week Oct 16th thru Oct 22nd

Hey there,
I can’t seem to catch a break, literally. When I started looking at the bands playing this week I didn’t recognize many of them. I was bummed because if I had time I would get to hear some new music. Then I thought I might catch up on editing and posting some of the 125 hour backlog of music I have recorded. Then I saw the end of the week and I’m now scrambling to figure out how to record as many shows as I can. There are some great local and Out of Towners like the Heavy Pets, They Might Be Giants and The Revivalists coming to town.
I am already behind from putting up posters for the Wild Rumpus on Oct 26th and trying to help put on the fundraiser for JD Smith this Sat at the Office Lounge. JD’s health has deteriorated to the point that she has to move back to Pittsburgh so her family can take care of her. We are doing the fundraiser to help with her moving costs. JD and her band Peace of Mind has supported many causes in the past like Project Safe and AHRF to name a few. I am looking for one more band to play for her fundraiser. Please contact me ASAP if you can help. Please help us try to pay back someone who has already paid forward so much in the past to help others. If nothing else please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

TUESDAY NIGHT CONFESSIONAL Host Fester Hagood presents this week’s showcase of singer-songwriter talent, featuring Nate Currin and Caleb Warren and the Perfect Gentlemen.
I’m not planning on going into town until Thurs. I really need someone to help at the Caledonia (I don’t have recordings of Buffalo Hawk or the Honey Sliders) or at New Earth (I don’t miss The Heavy Pets and really like Universal Sigh). I need someone to stay with my recorded and guard it from being knocked over, a full time job. I can set everything up on the recorder you won’t have to worry about that. Fri is worse. I have a yearly commitment to Kenny and The Bashers, I also want to catch Of Montreal at 40 Watt, Flash to Bang Time and Revien at Flicker, Mama’s Love and Revivalists at GATH, Ike at MP and Tia Madre et all at Green Room. Can anyone help? Sat is JD Smith’s fundraiser and if I can get a chance I’ll try for Crazy Hoarse and Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel at World Famous and/or The HEAP and Matt Joiner as Shot’s. I’ll probably finish at Amici’s with Varela Warren Martin and Fields. Mon is definitely Kenosha Kid. While Marlin Patton is in Germany on tour Dan and Robby will be playing solo sets they will be joined by Douglas Braford. I’ll also be at Kenosha Kid the week after, they will be playing the sound track from Twin Peaks.Good thing I’m trying to slow down!
I hope to see y’all at the shows.
Peace and Love,
