I’m so glad Spring seems here. The weather is outstanding, much like it was in Florida last month. People keep asking me about my last trip to FL so I’ll start with that. I was writing my Music This Week email when I got a call from my friend Joanna telling me about the Midwinter Naturist Festival near West Palm Beach the 11th thru 16th of Feb. I had been looking for a place to go to in FL since Nov when we had that first bad cold snap. Someone asked me why I wasn’t in FL enjoying better weather and I couldn’t think of a reason why I wasn’t so I started to check around for a place to go. Turns out the reason was everything in south FL has been booked for at least a year. I called the next day and there was room, the day after that I was at the festival at Sunsport Gardens Naturist Resort. Fantastic place. There were probably 200 classes, events, workshops and activities. There was a heated pool, hot tub and sauna and world class chefs. I will definitely be back for next year’s festival. French was spoken almost a often as English especially at the petanque games. I never played it before but I seem to have a knack for petanque.
I stayed 8 days at Sunsport. I have a friend Kevin I met at SpringFest a few years ago who has a place in Big Pine Key about 30 miles north of Key West and spent a week there. I went back to Sunsport for another 5 days on the way back from the Keys. I then went to my friend Lynn’s house for 3 days then to AURA for a 3 day festival. Fantastic music I hope to have posted in a few days.
I hit a snag with my postings. I upgraded the software and somehow a check box for one of the editors was set incorrectly and three days of editing have to be repeated as well as the uploads so it will be a few more days before that is done.
This is the last week for submitting a logo for the 38th AHRF you can either bring your drawing to our meeting this Thursdays 6:30 pm at Nuci’s Space or submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
