Music This Week July 17th thru July 23rd

Hey there,
Great news, I found a player for the web site. Exfm seems to be the best solution for the player I used to have on the web site. The difference is you have to click on the triangle in front of the track name, if you click on the track name it will use your browser’s player instead. You can also click the triangle on the Exfm player (lower right corner of page).  Exfm has a lot of features like sharing links with Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter, creating a playlist, and most importantly, it will launch and automatically play all files on the page. I actually tracked down the author of Yahoo Webplayer Max Engel and he recommended Exfm. Thank you Max. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

I took a break from email last week and I missed some shows. The two I definitely would have been at were The Odd Trio opening the return of regularly scheduled shows at the new Hendershot’s and American Mannequins Sat at the Green Room. In case you don’t know Hendershot’s is now in the Bottleworks building. The new locale has plenty of free parking  behind the building and a great layout. I know Seth will bring the same atmosphere of family and friends as well as great music. I just hope the new venue’s patrons will continue the tradition of respecting the musicians by listening to the music not talking over it.
On a very sad note, Nichole Mikko-Causby I talked about in earlier MTW emails, passed away on July 4th. Please join me in stending Melanie, Gary and the rest of the Causby family Strength, Healing and Love.
There is a lot of good music this week and also a lot of new bands. Please let me know about any I miss. I will check my emails this week.

I am still trying to keep a reduced recording schedule although I really missed having my recorder last night. Kenosha Kid was great with Dwight Trucks filling in for Marlon Patton. Both Marlon and Robby Handley will be on tour in England for the next month so definitely check out Kenosha the next few shows to see who Dan found to fill in for them, you know they will be great musicians. I’ll be at the Confessional tonight. If I make it to town Wed I’ll bounce between the Green Room and Nowhere. Thurs I’ll be at Wholly Trio. Fri is a major scheduling problem. Depending on scheduling I will be at 40 Watt, Farm 255, Caledonia and GATH rooftop. Sat I’ll definitely be at Nuçi’s for Camp Amped, I never miss those shows. I’ll probably head to Green Room after that, I haven’t seen Higher Choir and have never seen Scott Low play a solo set by himself. I’m sure someone will join him. Mon is Kenosha Kid and Moody Mama Holly Belle. Probably back to the Confessional next Tues. So much for the reduced recording schedule!
I hope to see y’all at the shows.
Peace and Love,
