Music This Week Aug 7th thru Aug 13th

Hey there,
Another week with some great music in town although as always most of it on the same day. My favorite shows from last week were Sweet Knievel and JGBCG last Thurs (already posted) and last night’s Blues Jam with Big C. Andrew Gialanella is back in town completing Big C’s backup Awesome Foursome. They also added Eddie Glikin and Scotty Nicholson and they were all smoking. There were a lot of great jammers as well. I’ll have the show posted in the next few days, check it out.
We have a fledgeling Tomato Festival planting the seeds for a full fledged festival next year. The World Famous is hosting eight great bands in this two day festival (Fri, Sat) celebrating the harvesting of the tomato. This is the brain child of Daniel Peiken’s at Athens Rock Show.
Since I didn’t have the lineup info in last week’s email, here is tonight’s show, Tuesday, August 6 Nowhere Bar 9 p.m. FREE!

I’m trying to make it to Tues Confessional tonight  and the HEAP Wed but I’m really swamped. The same is true for the rest of the week so I may not be out until Fri. Then I’ll try to start with Ryan Boss at Terrapin. I’ll definitely be at 40 Watt for the Brannen & Lieske CD Release show. Then it’s on to Nowhere for end of Lazy Locomotive’s set. Sat I’ll probably bounce between the Tomato Fest and Phil and the Blanks. Mon is the Hoot! Tues I’m trying to make it to Crooked P and also Tues Confessional.
I hope to see y’all at the shows.
Peace and Love,
Kurt
