Music This Week April 8th thru April 14th

Hey there,
I am only a few hours away from a major milestone for my web site, the 500th band posted! I have 497 currently and plan on Lyle Lovett (for my friend Lynn) from MagFest being 498. The Shook Twins, one of my favorite new bands from this year’s SpringFest will be 499 and tonight’s Sessions with S-Words and Friends will be number 500 (only fitting it is an Athens band)!
I could have spent the last few years like so many of my fellow Americans and become a couch potato or I could do like my dear friend Ralph Roddenbery said – “Get Up Off Your Hands and Try”. So I did. Who will be next? Come on out and get involved in something, have fun. Then let me in on it so I can have fun too.
My favorites from last week were Copious Jones (posted, check them out) and The Last Waltz Ensemble I will post in the next few days.
Again I’m faced with too many options. I’m going to the Major Rager in Augusta with The Revivalists, Gov’t Mule and Lettuce on Thurs. T’Dawg’s Hootenanny in Dahlonega Fri and Sat is also high on my list. Then I’ll be leaving for Wanee Tues or Wed. Glad I’m slowing down!
Don’t forget to mark the date, May 2nd & 3rd is the 37th Athens Human Rights Festival!!! The Battle of the Bands Fundraiser is Saturday April 25 at 7:00pm at Nuçi’s Space. Come out to watch the bands vie for the last two available slots on stage at the festival.

I hope to see y’all at the shows.
Peace and Love,
