This is a quickie. I really haven’t had my head in a good place lately. I did want to bring this to your attention.
This Sat April 2nd at 12:00 noon in Monroe, GA is the 38th Annual March on the Moore’s Ford Bridge. It starts at the 1st African Baptist Church 130 Tyler St with motorcade at 1:00 pm and reception at 5:00 pm.
Here is the 38th AHRF Battle of the Bands info:
Each year, we hold a battle of the bands fundraiser for the Athens Human Rights Festival,(now a 501(c)3 organization), however, this year we’re adding a new feature. We’re going to be raffling items during the show donated by local artists, restaurants, businesses and musicians, including art by Chris McKay and Timi Conley, gift certificates from local Athens restaurants, music from Jay Rodgers, Daniel Hutchins, a signed and numbered copy of Athens Music History by author Michael Collins, and more cool stuff.
The event will be on April 15th at The Office Lounge and is an all-ages event. You can purchase tickets for $5 from all participating bands or a $5 donation at the door. All donations are tax deductible.
At this time, we’re still signing up bands who want to compete for a performance spot at the 38th Athens Human Rights Festival in May. Two winners will be chosen – Most Votes and Judges’ Pick.
Also, if you would like to donate any items, such as artwork, music (CD’s or Vinyl), Gift Certificates for services, or items from your business for our raffle, it would be much appreciated! Because the Festival is funded entirely by donations from the local community and organized by volunteers, any “in kind” or financial support is always graciously accepted and appreciated! Thank you for helping us keep this unique festival going for 38 years!!
