Music This Week July 1st thru July 7th

Hey there,
I’m bummed I missed AthFest. I trusted y’all to step up and have a fantastic time for me. I hope y’all didn’t let me down. If anyone has recordings you would like posted let me know.
I was at an out of town party and did my best to have as much and cause as much fun as possible. I must have been successful as I have been invited to next year’s party and the big party coming up later this year. I had a fantastic time with some truly wonderful people and incredible musicians. The music went until around 2 am Mon morning. I returned to Athens last night.
Some clarification regarding the  Fri Sept 18th AHRF fundraiser at Terrapin Beer Co. I am putting this fundraiser on myself as the AHRF committee closes after the festival and doesn’t start again until after the 1st of next year. The main thing is that this is not a play your way on stage fundraiser You are only playing to help me out with the fundraiser. That and the satisfaction that comes from doing something to help others. I have heard from several bands but haven’t responded to any as I wanted to make this clarification. Please resubmit your band info if you are still interested. Also if any of you were thinking about joining the AHRF committee it would be a great time to come down and talk.
I hope y’all have a safe and happy 4th. Happy Birthday Momma!

Music This Week June 24th thru June 30th

Hey there,
Please save the date, Fri Sept 18th 5:30-7:30 pm for one of my AHRF fundraisers at Terrapin Beer Co. This is the early tailgate party for the South Caroline football game. I am looking for a band to play during it. Two major requirements, must have your own PA system and consider donating your payment from Terrapin to the AHRF fund. In the past we have lost money where these criteria weren’t met. Please let me know if you are interested in playing.
Y’all probably know by now AthFest is this weekend. I heard that Rob from the Foundry and Paul Lee and company are doing the sound for the main stages at AthFest which is great news. I recorded every minute at both stages last year but the sound was so terrible I didn’t post any of it. My recommendation is to go to as many of the shows as possible. A lot of ex-Athenians are returning, Betsy Franck, Andrew G and Nic Wiles to name a few. I won’t be there I’ll be at a private party out of town.
Well summer is finally here with the Solstice last Sun. It also marks the 4 year anniversary of my web site. There are some major announcements regarding my site coming soon so stay tuned.
My favorite shows from last week were Kenosha Kid (posted) and Camp Amped (should be posted later today). Definitely check out Cosmic Convergence for some incredible shows, especially the closers each night.
