Music This Week Sept 25th thru Oct 1st

Hey there,
I’ll start with yet another example of Athenians helping others. Rob at the Melting Point has started a non profit organization that collects donations of unwanted material goods specializing in automotive and boats. They then scrap or refurbish and sell the vehicles to fund  local and national musical charities for struggling musicians and underprivileged aspiring musicians. Please check them out at:
My highlight for last week was definitely Mickey Hart and Lazy Locomotive. Ben Sollee, Revien, Pocketful of Claptonight and The Other Brothers Band were also fantastic shows.
I have the first two days of shows from Interlocken posted. Two more days of shows to come.
Thank you to Busch for telling me about the promo code for last night’s Mickey Hart show. This is a communal effort so if anyone hears about specials or promos please let me know ASAP so I can spread the word. At least 8 people stopped by last night and thanked me for the info, 2 came from Atlanta as they could afford the $10 tickets. About a dozen people were bummed because they bought their tickets before they found out about the promo and some missed out because they stop selling tickets online when the doors open. Something I didn’t know. I posted the info in my email and also on my Facebook page, please let me know which method is more effective.
There is a benefit Wed for Nuçi’s Space at Hendershot’s I highly recommend y’all attend. Check out the lineup and you will understand.
Also there is a two day long tribute called STILL Living The Dream, a tribute to Jon and Herb Guthrie at Caledonia Fri and Sat, great lineup and great cause. Proceeds go to the family of Nichole Mikko-Causby. Please stop by.

TUESDAY NIGHT CONFESSIONAL Host Fester Hagood presents this week’s showcase of singer-songwriter talent, featuring North Star, Marc Andress and Dukes of Glynn.
Tonight I’ll be at the last show of Kenosha Kid’s Tues. residency at Hendershot’s. Ike Stubblefield will start his Oct residency next Tues. Wed I’m back at Hendershot’s for Cover Me, you don’t want to miss this show and benefit for Nuçi’s Space. Thurs I’ll probably be at Squat and Hope for Agoldensummer although George Clinton and Yo Mama’s BFBB is tough to pass. I hope Sloan or Matt will be recording them. Fri and Sat I haven’t made up my mind, too many choices. Sun I’ll definitely be at Maharajah Flamenco Trio, I have waited two years for this show. I caught them when I first got my recorder. I loved the show but totally blew the recording (levels way too high, total distortion). This is my chance to redeem myself. When is the last time you heard a didgeridoo? Mon I’ll try for Moths and Tues High Strung String Band.
I hope to see y’all at the shows.
Peace and Love,
