Great news! Hendershot’s is now back in full swing. They recieved their liquor license Monday. If you haven’t stopped by, please do so. It is much nicer than the old venue and I concidered the old venue one of the best in Athens. It is in the Bottleworks on Prince with plenty of parking behind the building.
My highlight from last week was, surprise, Cosmic Charlie. As a tye-dyed in the wool Deadhead I assure you that you would have had to catch the Grateful Dead on a stellar night to hear better music. Cosmic Charlie has only been around for 14 years and keep getting better. The don’t play the Dead , they channel the Dead. Their shows are like trippin’ or an orgasm, there aren’t words to adequately describe it, you have to experience it for yourself.
My lowlight of the week was Sat. when I discovered I only had the second set of Cosmic Charlie on my recorder. The only thing I can think of is it has an accelerometer and if bumped too hard it shuts down without saving the file. This underscores the fact that you should have been there to hear it for yourself.
The other highlight was last night’s Kenosha Kid show. When Dan wears hard sole shoes you know he is going to do a lot of looping and petal work. Last night was an incredible show with just Dan and Colin Agnewon drums.
Both the Cosmic Charlie and Kenosha Kid shows are posted on my website, check them out.
