Music This Week May 1st thru May 7th and 35th AHRF

Hey there,
WOW what a great Americana Festival! Kudos to Adan Klein and Justin Evans
for all thier hard work putting it together. I know from helping John Miley put
the music together for the AHRF it’s like herding cats getting all the musicians
schedules in sync and on stage on time.
Speaking of AHRF, it’s finally here! The 35th Athens Human Rights Festival is
this weekend May 4th & 5th on College Ave. We start around 5pm Fri closing
off the street and building the stage. Any able bodied person that would like to
help and can follow directions will be welcome. Expect a weekend filled with
speakers talking about issues important to us all and great music.

Music This Week April 24th thru April 30th

Hey there,
I know there is no such thing as having too much fun (at least that is how I live
my life) but I’m seriously surfing on the edge. Wanee was off the hook, start to
finish. Everyone that let whatever excuse it was that kept them from going
should start now to make sure nothing keeps you from going next year. The good
news is a number of bands that played there are here this week.
With the exception of Athfest this week has the best lineup of music all year with
the Americana Fest. and the AHRF Battle of the Bands. Throw in the Twilight
Criterium and Earth Week and you should have no excuse to have a good time.
I want to thank Justin Evans and Adam Klein and the rest for all their hard work putting the Americana Fest. together. I will repost the schedule for the Americana Fest. at the end of this email.
Also don’t forget the 35th Athens Human Rights Festival is next week, May 4th & 5th.

Music This Week April 2nd thru April 9th

Hey there,
WOW! Thank everyone so much for all the kind words, good thoughts and
support for me and Giggles. I wanted to thank you all individually but I’m
overwhelmed with the number of responses (914 emails in my in box now) so I
can’t do it individually but know I will read and cherish all your responses.
Tons of great music this week, some bitter sweet like the last shows for P-Groove
and Modern Skirts and a somewhat rare show with the Last Waltz Ensemble
playing in Athens.
I’m in the middle of sorting about 40 hours of Springfest recordings trying to get
ready for Wannee Fest in a couple of weeks.
I’m also getting way behind with taking care of all my plants, emptying my
greenhouse, pruning the blueberries, etc, etc.
That means I am going to slow down on my recording schedule. I do have a
second recorder and you are more than welcome to borrow it, just let me know.
