Music This Week Nov 28th thru Dec 4th

Hey there,
I hope y’all had a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
I had time to post some more shows, some I thought I already posted like Dangfly!, Connected Houses, Tues Confessional, The Woodgrains, etc. I also posted the acoustic Cosmic Charlie set from last Sat. Caroline Aiken, Norma Rae and Michael Gutherie @ Flicker last month, Bob Brussack’s Jazz Jam, Gage Howe & Robert Bell and more. Enjoy!
I’m going to really try to get my Athfest shows posted soon. If I missed some of your favorite shows please let me know and I’ll put them on my TO DO list, I still have hundreds of shows to post. Again if anyone would like to help I’d greatly appreciate it.
I’ll make this a short email as I really want to get to the Tues Confessional @ Nowhere tonight, I tried but haven’t made any of them this month.
This should made you smile:
This is kosher to post as it is after Thanksgiving. It is also my favorite holiday song:

Music This Week Nov 21th thru Nov 27th

Hey there,
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.
Lots of new music posted on my web site
I have all of the Bear Creek recordings (about 25 hours of music), the rest of the Dark Side of the Dead, this month’s Blues Jam w/ Big C, The Other Brothers Band from last Sat, the North GA Folk Festival and  Scott Low’s Birthday Bash. The latter is memorable not only for the incredible musicians who played that night with Scott, Betsy Franck, Holly Belle, Jonny Brill, Adam Poulin and many others but it also was when my recorder had problems. It would just flatline at times during the recording like it did during Phil Duncan’s set at Slow Water. I don’t know what was wrong, possibly problems with the SD card as is hasn’t shown up since and I have 7-8 of them so I’m not sure which one it was recorded on. Bear Creek has some incredible shows from Ike Stubblefield,  Umphrey’s McGee, Lettuce, Soulive, Zach Deputy, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra and lots more, you should check it out.
This is a lighter than usual week for music but there are a number of  Don’t Miss shows.
Here is a link to an artist I met at Bear Creek He assured me that one day he will be famous. I think he may be on to something, I like his work.
This is something I meant to post earlier. Warning, if you have any compassion this will make you cry.

When it comes to politics, I am an agnostic, I don’t believe in them. I think for starters we should charge everyone who signed the Patriot Act with treason. I hate to think what would happen to programs like the one that helped Jodi if Romney won.

Music This Week Nov 14th thru Nov 20th

Hey there,
Bear Creek was incredible! Great music, great people, great weather, great place, GREAT TIME! Start saving now so you have no excuse to miss it next year. I hope to have the shows posted by the end of the week(roughly 25 hours of recordings).
Sorry I didn’t get to The HOOT or to Ty’s Solid Gold Country Revival last night. I was back from FL in time but Sunday I picked up my first cold this century (or longer) almost 102 fever. I have an incredible immune system and the fever broke yesterday but didn’t want to take any chances passing it to anyone.
Before I forget again, here is the link to Rebekah Skinner of Spotted Online’s photos from the Dank Sinatra AHRF fundraiser at Terrapin:
Here is something I found interesting. It is a real photo but the wording in the article is terrible and reads at first glance as if this isn’t a real picture:
Mark your calendar, Sat night the 17th is the Leonids meteor shower. If you want to see if the Space Station is visible overhead go to Sign up and they will text of email you with info a few hours before it is visible overhead.
Point to ponder: scientists now identify itching as something as socially contagious as yawning. Itching lights up parts of the brain called the Itch Matrix. This is part of our social fabric like smiling and laughing.  I wonder how many other things humans share that have been lost through lack of utilization and isolation (we increasingly isolate ourselves when we walk down the street with ear buds in and not interacting with others). Hugging is something I’m not going to let die out !!!
Finally, this Thurs Nov 15th the GA Climate Change Coalition is participating in the  24 Hours of Reality: The Dirty Weather Report. Al Gore’s second annual event for the Climate Reality Project. There will be live streaming of the final  segment of this year’s project from 6-8:30 PM at New Earth Music Hall . Carl Lindberg will play from 9-10pm and more TBA.

I may not make it out Wed but if I do I’ll go to Modern Skirts. Thurs I’ll start at Rachel O’Neal’s show (if there is time I will try to catch some of Kenosha Kid). then to GATH for EPS and P-Groove BTW I recorded the P-Groove set at Bear Creek. I’ll definitely go to Snap! after P-Groove.Fri I’ll start at Hendershot’s and catch as much as I can before going to Sweet Knievel, I’ll see if The Woodgrains is still playing after that. Sat I’d love to catch the Musicsmiths and String Theory but 8am and I don’t work well. I will try for the Terrapin show before heading to The Other Brothers Band and finish with Lazy Locomotive. On Sun as always if you are looking for Irish/folk music go to the Globe at 4pm or for Blues go to Ten Pins at 7:30. I’m not planning on going to anything else until Tues for Fester Hagood’s Confessional.
I hope to see y’all at the shows.
